Shortly after tying the knot, newlyweds LOCAVORista and thinkCHUA started saving money with the aim of joining the Peace Corps together. Six months and $50,000 later, they decided it would be a shame to pass up an opportunity to travel the world first—after all, the Peace Corps wasn’t going anywhere. After departing in fall 2010, the pair has been documenting their travels with pieces like “Blending into Asia” and “5 Reasons to Visit the Lao Red Cross.” What’s more, they also offer plenty of advice for other would-be world travellers trying to save money and follow in their footsteps.
