Mekong River Commission for Sustainable Development: Internship Programme
The MRC Internship programme has been developed to increase the opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and skills, between sectors and cultures within the mandate of MRC. The objective of the programme is to provide work experience opportunities for both riparian and international students, or recent graduates within the fields relevant to the work of MRC and operation of the MRC Secretariat. Recruitment of interns is handled by the United Nations Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme.
The Mekong River Commission (MRC) was established in 1995 by an agreement between the governments of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam. The Agreement on the Cooperation for the Sustainable Development of the Mekong River Basin came about as the four countries saw a common interest in jointly managing their shared water resources and developing the economic potential of the river.
The following are eligible to apply for an internship: - Final year undergraduate or graduate students. - Recently graduated professionals. Interns will either be solicited by MRC Sections and programmes or will approach MRCS independently, or through their academic institution, for internship opportunities.
