AID India's volunteers are integral to its functions, as they are the ones who create the initial groups in the villages and provide the people with the proper training and education in trade and leadership skills. Volunteer placements range from teaching children to instructing teachers on computer applications, from working on a micro credit scheme to establishing dairy farms.
AID India's mission is to work for people with disabilities, children (deserted, orphans, disabled and children suppressed by means of caste and religion) and poor women in villages. AID India works towards their independent living through education, training, rehabilitation and micro credit programmes.
Duration of the project largely depends on the volunteer and how long they are available for. Volunteer placements do not have a programme fee, but volunteers must cover the cost of travel to the site. A donation to AID India is appreciated, but not compulsory. Contact AID India directly for further details and application information.
