Independent Living Alternatives: Volunteer Personal Assistants
Independent Living Alternatives (ILA) employs Personal Assistant Volunteers in London throughout the year. The role of a Personal Assistant (PA) is to provide personal assistance to Personal Assistance Users (PA User) to enable her or him to live independently. To work as a full time volunteer is a great opportunity for people who want to learn more about disability issues and is open to applicants from around the world. The programme includes free accommodation, ongoing training, support and supervision, living expenses for food & travel and regular time off.
Independent Living Alternatives (ILA) is an organization of disabled people providing a comprehensive range of personal assistance services. They aim to enable people who need personal assistance, to be able to live independently in the community and take full control of their lives and thereby have individuality and spontaneity.
Applicants must have: - A willingness to learn - Common sense - At least 4 months to spare - A clean driving license No experience is necessary to apply for a Personal Assistant position.
