Programmes offered by the African Conservation Trust are projects conceived by Africans and implemented by Africans to achieve self-sustained funding for environmental research in Southern Africa. The difference between the Trust and other volunteer organizations is that the Trust is based in South Africa and will only be involved with projects within their sphere of influence.
The African Conservation Trust conducts environmental, cultural and heritage conservation projects. The Trust gives ordinary people a chance to make a positive and real contribution to conservation through fundraising and volunteering opportunities.
The African Conservation Trust is looking for volunteers who have an interest in taking part in a project with a focus on sustainable development. There are also opportunities for researchers to submit project proposals for a current research/monitoring project or if they would like to initialize a project that needs staffing and funding. Application information is available online.
