|1||Should I Volunteer with an Anti-human Trafficking Program?||Thanks for reading and replying, Scott! I feel your pain. It's so great that people are keen to help, but it's important they ask the questions of WHY they want to help (ie: who is it really about) and what might be some unintended harmful consequences. I say that with some hypocrisy, because I had my start as a short-term volunteer ... and ironically, most of the people I interviewed for this article have a similar story. How did you get your start? PS Thanks in advance for getting a copy of the book! I'd love for other NGOs to pick it up as a pre-departure training for (trained) volunteers. We need to talk more about human limits and boundaries in the work we do.||2017-08-10 18:52:43|
