Application process and requirements
Volunteer placements are geared at anyone who is looking for an international placement of 2-24 weeks. In order to be eligible to volunteer, candidates must be eligible to enter the country in which the project is based on a tourist visa or its equivalent. If candidates are not eligible for these, they shouldn’t apply. In addition, to teach English, applicants must be a native or near-native speaker of the English language. TEFL training is available at some, but not all placements. The minimum booking deadline is two weeks for i-to-i travel experiences. However, it is recommended that volunteers apply six months or more prior to their start date to ensure their spot. If applicants wish to travel with a friend, they should apply in advance to ensure two spots on a particular programme.
