The Courtauld Institute of Art is delighted to offer Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding as partners of the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England (CHASE) for PhD level study....

Programme specific scholarships

The below awards are applied for via the typical Courtauld Scholarship process, with eligible students considered for the awards below where appropriate.

The Andrew Hochhauser KC Scholarship: For the 2022/23 academic year, Mr Andrew Hochhauser KC will make a £6,000 scholarship available to an MA History of Art student enrolled on either ‘New York-London-Paris, 1880-1940’ or ‘Victorian Science and Aesthetic Movement Art

The New Directions Scholarship: This scholarship is for students enrolled on the MA History of Art programme, as part of their efforts to change their career path from a sector or discipline other than History of Art.

The Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Scholarship: A scholarship awarded to a graduate student/alumna from Scripps College wishing to study for the MA in the History of Art at The Courtauld.

The Jungels-Winkler Scholarship (EU): A scholarship awarded to an MA History of Art student with EU resident status, with priority given to a student from an underrepresented background in higher education.

Sources of Funding for Conservation Students

Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST)

Awards ranging from £2,000 to £15,000 available for craftsmen and women of all ages to help them further their careers. Students on the MA in Conservation of Wall Painting and Postgraduate Diploma in the Conservation of Easel Paintings are eligible for this award.

 

Anna Plowden Trust bursaries

Students on full-time conservation courses can apply independently to the Anna Plowden Trust for up to £2,000 towards their fees for the first year of the course.

Alumni loyalty scheme

The Courtauld offers an alumni loyalty scheme, open to any graduate of The Courtauld Institute of Art admitted to a new taught postgraduate programme of study from 2015/16 onwards. Recipients will receive a 10% loyalty discount off their tuition fee for the duration of the course
