ISA Scholarships

Students accepted to an ISA program will have access to the scholarship application through the Student Portal. The scholarship application and supporting documents must be submitted by the dates above. Scholarship application deadlines are evaluated independently of program application deadlines and will not be extended even if the program application deadline is extended.

Please note: Applicants for a study abroad program in Asia or the Pacific, will be enrolled through our WorldStrides partner, TEAN. For these programs, please visit the TEAN Scholarships page for more details. Internships in Asia or the Pacific will be enrolled through ISA and will have access to the scholarship application through the Student Portal, as noted above.

GO (Global Opportunity) Full-Ride Scholarship

ISA will award one scholarship each year to a participating student for the full list price of the ISA program. The GO Full-Ride Scholarship can be used for an ISA program and covers the full program fee. In order to be considered for this scholarship, all applicants must apply and meet the eligibility requirements for one of the other ISA scholarships by the deadline. There will be one GO Full-Ride Scholarship awarded per year.

Diversity Scholarship

This scholarship is offered for summer and semester programs and is intended for students with identities historically underserved in education abroad. This can include, but is not limited to, individuals who identify as African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Native Hawaiian, LGBTQIA+, First-Generation College Students, U.S. Military Veterans, students with disabilities, and/or students at Minority-Serving Institutions.

Semester Partnership Scholarship

These merit and financial need-based scholarships assist semester students from affiliated universities with the expenses of studying abroad. Applicants for this scholarship must exhibit financial need via supporting documents, including your home university financial aid award letter and Student Aid Report.
Recipients of this scholarship will have the opportunity to participate in the ISA Blogger Program, which offers the recipient the chance to take photos and add content to the ISA Student Blog as a Correspondent. 

Summer Pathways Scholarship

These merit and financial need-based summer term scholarships are dedicated to the memory of Michaela Farnum, a very involved Seattle University student who worked with various youth and campus organizations. Applicants for this scholarship must exhibit financial need via supporting documents, including your home university financial aid award letter and Student Aid Report.

Community Engagement Scholarship

This scholarship, exclusively for participants enrolled in an ISA Service-Learning program, is offered in memory of Kalyn Peterson who leaves behind a legacy of promoting diversity and putting others’ needs before her own. Visit the ISA Service-Learning page for more details.
 

Host University Scholarships

The following host university partner generously offers scholarships to participating ISA students:

ENGLAND
Kingston University (London) 
ISA participants on the Kingston University program who apply for another ISA scholarship by the deadline will automatically be considered for this award. There is no additional application required.

ISA Affiliate and Supplemental Awards

Affiliate Partnership Awards - $200 - $5,000

ISA is proud to have over 475 affiliate partnerships with universities around the world. Students who attend an ISA-affiliated university may be eligible to receive additional funding for their ISA program directly from ISA or through their home university's study abroad scholarship program. If you attend an ISA-affiliated university, reach out to your university program abroad office to learn more.

Give (GI Veterans Excellence) Award - 5%

ISA provides this generous supplemental scholarship to GI-Bill recipients who are participating in an ISA program. This award will apply to all active and veteran benefit recipients, regardless of whether the GI-Bill funding will transfer to their term abroad. Once you have applied for an ISA program, email your ISA Account Manager to let them know you are eligible. Submission of your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) letter or other proof of VA documentation is required to receive this award.

Fund for Education Abroad Access Partner

The Fund for Education Abroad’s (FEA) mission is to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among the U.S. study abroad population. As an FEA Access Partner, WorldStrides has joined in the shared commitment to increase the number of underrepresented American college students studying abroad through the provision of scholarships. FEA scholarship applicants participating on an ISA or TEAN program may be eligible for financial support of up to $5,000. Visit the FEA website for more details and an application.

ISA Grants

Sibling Grant - $350 - $500

Did your sibling participate in an ISA, TEAN, or WorldStrides program of any length? If so, you will qualify for the repeat student grant amounts (listed below) towards your ISA program. Eligible students only need to inform ISA of their sibling’s enrollment, and the grant award will be applied to your account.

Global Ambassador Grant - $450 - $600

Active Global Ambassadors who are planning to participate with ISA again will receive $100 in addition to the corresponding Repeat Student Grant amount (as listed below).

Repeat Student Grant - $350 - $500

ISA is always happy to welcome back alumni! Eligible students only need to inform ISA of their previous enrollment, and the grant award will be applied to your account. If you have already participated in an ISA, TEAN or WorldStrides program of any length (including study abroad, Internship, Service-Learning, WorldStrides Custom Programs, or EuroScholars), and you are now enrolling in an ISA:

If the students previously participated in:
ISA study abroad, Internship, Service-Learning, ISA Custom Program, EuroScholars or ISA High School program of any length*
Now enrolled in:
ISA summer study abroad program OR an ISA Internship or Service-Learning program from 8 weeks in length
Grant Amount:
$350
If the students previously participated in:
ISA study abroad, Internship, Service-Learning, ISA Custom Program, EuroScholars or ISA High School program of any length*
Now enrolled in:
ISA trimester, semester, year-long study abroad program
Grant Amount:
$500
*Only one award may be applied per program. Participants enrolling in Global Remote Internships, WorldStrides Custom Programs or EuroScholars undergraduate research programs are not eligible to receive these grants.
